Gaëlle Rouard : The Haunting Collage
This month we have teamed up with All Ears Festival to bring you a special live projection performance by Gaëlle Rouard.
An alchemist specialising in the precipitation of silver on film, Gaëlle Rouard (FR) is one the world’s foremost practitioners of live projection cinema. In her immersive and hypnotic performances she acts directly with the film as it is projected, slowing it down, working with the shutter, with sound and visual manipulation to create subtle improvisational effects.
Rouard is constantly developing various methods of hand processing film, and is always exploring the possibilities of live multi-projection in both solo and collaborative forms.
This is her first visit to Oslo. Rouard will perform two pieces :

The sea foams and bubbles. Gray white bleak everywhere.
Chasms and mountains. Water… only water! And nothing to absorb it all.
A brief look round of the chief. The needle progresses unperturbed.
