22Fluxus Films (1963 -70 / various artists / 16mm / 70 mins)

Fluxus artists were considered pranksters because of their playful and unconventional art stratagies. The movement consisted of a network of radical visionaries that attempted to uproot social, political and aesthetic perceptions and create an art which blurred and mixed different art principles, values and practices. Fluxus is known for it’s minimalist but expressive approach to gestures, its humour, its brevity and outward simplicity.

Featured here are 22 works by 13 artists including Yoko Ono, John Cale, Paul Sharits and Pieter Vanderbeek.
