A slide projector performance made in collaboration with Veronika Vlková (CZ) and Kateřina Koutná (CZ). The material for Stone Horizon was drawn from the Frontiers of Solitude expedition to Iceland in August 2015.
Three slide projectors were employed using a speed-controlled shutter apparatus creating a proto-cinema, moving image performance. The projected image was combined with voice and sounds, acoustic and electronic instruments, played by Vlkova and Koutná. Stone Horizon portrays an abstracted notion of Iceland, contrasting its spectacular landscape with the alterations made through human intervention.
Stone Horizon was performed at Stavanger ScreenCity Festival (October 2015) and PAF, the Festival of Film Animation (December 2015), in Olomouc, Czech Republic.
