NANACATEPEC

Film performance by ELENA PARDO & AZUCENA LOSANA
(Mexico, 45mins)

The Nanacatepec rock is traversed by a network that extends without a defined shape. It communicates both below and above the earth with living and dead beings. Its fruits, in the form of mushrooms, are creators and transformers of everything in the world.

Using 3 16mm projectors and multiple slide machines, with an ethereal sound track by Tomas Novoa, Pardo and Losana create a cinema of mutable organic images, continually shifting and re-composing across the screen.Azucena Losana, (Mexico 1977), lives in Mexico City and Buenos Aires. Studied in Argentina and works with film, video and installation. Elena Pardo, co-founder of the Laboratorio Experimental de Cine in Mexico is a maker, explorer, and advocate of the moving image.
